Medieval Mondays
a 4-session course
Description
The course fee of $80 includes all 4 live sessions and the recordings. NAVRS music director Annette Bauer teaches a 4-session online series on medieval music. To kick off this new program, each session this fall will focus on music by a different 14th or 15th-century composer: September 23 - Guillaume de Machaut (ca. 1300-1377) October 21 - Francesco Landini (ca. 1335 - 1397) November 18 - Johannes Ciconia (ca. 1335-1411) December 16 - Guillaume Dufay (ca. 1397-1474) Each session will contain a composer’s mini-portrait with a brief overview of what we know about their life and work, as well as a selection of their music to discover and play together. Scores will be available for registered participants a week ahead of each session. Play-along files will be created on recorders. Each Zoom meeting will be recorded and will stay viewable on demand until one full month after the final session of the series. Come join in on this musical time-travel on Mondays from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Eastern time. Registration instructions for non-members: 1.
